Archive Couture, Reimagined

Architecture of the Body.
Hyper-structured silhouettes, futuristic glamour, and a theatrical vision of the superhuman woman.
The House
Thierry Mugler founded his house in Paris in 1973, a former dancer who brought a choreographer's command of the body to a vision of fashion as pure, sculpted spectacle.
His silhouette was unmistakable: nipped waists, architectural shoulders and curves engineered with mathematical precision, dressing women as glamazons, goddesses and superheroes.
Through the 1980s and '90s Mugler staged some of the most extravagant runway shows ever seen, fusing fashion, theatre and science fiction into events of operatic scale.
His genius extended to fragrance with Angel, the gourmand perfume that broke every rule and became one of the best-selling scents in the world, redefining the category.
Today the Mugler name endures as a symbol of fearless, futuristic glamour, a house where the body becomes architecture and fashion becomes a dream made real.
