Marni was founded in Milan in 1994 by Consuelo Castiglioni, who turned a project for her family's fur business into one of the most distinctive and quietly influential voices in Italian fashion.

From the start Marni rejected obvious glamour in favour of the offbeat: clashing prints, peculiar colour combinations, and silhouettes that were artistic, eccentric and entirely original.

The house became a haven for the creative woman who wanted to stand apart, dressing intellect and individuality rather than trend, and elevating bold costume jewellery to an art.
