Isabel Marant founded her label in Paris in 1994, channelling a childhood of travel and a love of the relaxed and the real into a wardrobe built for the woman she knew best, herself.
Her vision was a particular Parisian cool: bohemian yet rock-and-roll, refined yet thrown together, with slouchy knits, fringed jackets and easy silhouettes that looked effortless by design.
In 2012 her concealed wedge sneaker became a global phenomenon, copied endlessly and proof of her instinct for the pieces women actually crave.
Marant built her house on authenticity rather than logos, dressing free-spirited women who wanted to feel like themselves, only better, and inspiring a generation of imitators.
Today Isabel Marant remains the definition of la Parisienne, effortless, confident, a little wild, and forever the standard of undone French chic.
