Fendi

Fendi began in 1925 when Adele Casagrande and Edoardo Fendi opened a fur and leather workshop on Rome's Via del Plebiscito, founding a family house that would carry Roman craftsmanship into the global age of luxury.

The second generation, the five Fendi sisters, transformed the atelier into a powerhouse, and in 1965 a fateful partnership began with a young Karl Lagerfeld, who would direct the house for fifty-four years.

Lagerfeld treated fur as fabric, cutting, dyeing and lightening it with radical invention, and gave the house its enduring emblem: the interlocking double-F, standing for 'Fun Fur', one of fashion's most recognisable signatures.

In 1997 Silvia Venturini Fendi designed the Baguette, the small shoulder bag worn tucked under the arm that ignited the It-bag phenomenon and became one of the most coveted accessories of its era.

A century on, Fendi remains the embodiment of Roman luxury, marrying centuries-old artisanal mastery with audacious modernity in every fur, bag, and couture creation.
